Episodic puzzler Destination Primus Vita releases first episode

If you’re looking for a new narrative fix, then perhaps this new title is the one for you. Destination Primus Vita is a new episodic narrative adventure developed by Epsilon Games and published by Green Man Gaming. Set on Earth in the year 3044, our planet is a barren, waterless wasteland following an alien attack. Crew 121 is humanity’s last hope, Earth’s best and brightest, and they’re taking the fight back to the invaders. Check out the trailer below.

Destination Primus Vita features a striking visual style dripping in pink and blue neon, paired with classic narrative adventure gameplay. Epsilon Games has given an overview of the 6-episode series, seen below, and I have to say my interest is piqued.

“In 3044, Crew 121 takes off to Primus Vita to reclaim Earth’s lost water centuries after the aliens known as “The Shatters” stole it. Each member of the six-person crew has a role to play, whether it be a scientist, military operator, or communication expert.
NIM, the A.I. of the interstellar ship Beaufort, designs dreamscapes for each crew member while in cryo-sleep to preserve their mental acuity before the showdown with The Shatters on Primus Vita. These mental reconstructions pull from their personal histories between the crew and integrate tests and puzzles designed to strengthen both their logical and emotional intelligence. Dialogue choices affect the interpersonal relationships of the crew and reveal hidden truths.”

Each of the six episodes will tell a story from a different character’s perspective, yet blends and intertwines each of these POV’s into one overarching narrative. Epsilon Games’ creative lead Anne Gibeault states that Destintation Primus Vita is ” just the start of our star-spanning sci-fi saga”, a saga which currently features a tie-in comic which you can check out here. “We’re ready to share this universe with our players and hope they empathize with the threats Crew 121 faces, whether external and alien, or internal and very human.”

Episode one, ‘Austin’, is out now on PC and Mac, with the series coming to PS4 and Xbox in the coming months.
