Bandai Namco’s eagerly awaited fighting game, Jump Force, released another full-on trailer at this years Gamescom, revealing a number of new playable fighters in the process. A total of six additional characters have officially been revealed including One Piece favourites Sanji Vinsmoke, Marshall D. Teach (aka Blackbeard), and Sabo, to name a few. The trailer does a brilliant job at showing fans of the weekly Shōnen Jump serialisation just what they can expect when playing this, 50 years in-the-making game.
In the Jump Force trailer we get to see a number of fighters using some of their signature attacks including Hisoka, from Hunter x Hunter, using his Bungee Gum and Vegeta, from Dragon Ball Z, using Final Flash. On top of this, the trailer dropped a cryptic message announcing the arrival of “a new hero rising”, speculating that players will have the option to create their own unique fighter which they may take online and battle with against other players around the world. It’s a pretty neat concept, considering I would love a fighter who knows both Rasengan and the Kamehameha Wave, then no-one could stand in my way… *insert villain laugh here*
It’s hard not to get excited about this game when so many more characters from the popular Japanese syndication could still be announced. The fighters already included in the roster have been shown off in spectacular form and it doesn’t look like Bandai Namco will be stopping anytime soon with the character reveals. Set for release onto the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC next year, tell us who want to see brought into the Jump Force gaming world.
