Brace yourself Dragon Ball fans, Dragon Ball FighterZ is receiving a free update featuring a new stage, new play options, and Halloween themed options and costume colours. The new options will allow one on one as well and two on two battles alongside the standard three vs three matches.

Aside from the new gameplay options, two new characters are on the way in the form of Cooler and Android 17. Almost all of the free content is available in the recently released Nintendo Switch version, except for the additional arena which is on its way. Check out the trailer.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is the latest release in a long line of Dragon Ball Z beat ’em ups, it was originally released back in January for PS4 and Xbox One and managed to sell two million copies within its first week setting a record for the series. The Nintendo Switch version was released in September. It recieved rave reviews earning itself 87/100 on Metacritic, with critics praising its art design and mechanics sticking close to the source material.

In fact, some critics have proclaimed it the best fighting game in a long time and definitely the best Dragon Ball Z game ever made. It also reached number 2 in the sales charts here in Australia and New Zealand (beaten only by Monster Hunter). It’s rare for substantial free DLC to be available these days, so fans of the game are in for a treat and it gives those on the sidelines another reason to check it out.

Kamehameha indeed.
