In a surprising Twitter announcement from the game’s official account, the hack-and-slash title that flew under the radar will be available on handheld for the first time. Accompanied by a trailer showcasing the Nintendo Switch gameplay, players will be able to relive, or journey for the first time, as the Arisen.
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen initially released in 2013 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Receiving positive reviews, its sales fell short in Western markets, however making big waves over in Japan and other Eastern markets. Slowly with time, the game has become a cult classic, renowned for its exciting action and satisfying gameplay. Player’s love for the title is clearly shown, receiving its first generational port in 2017 to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and now to the Nintendo Switch.
The game follows the Arisen, the player’s customisable avatar, travelling the land of Gransys. While accomplishing quests and battling fantasy creatures all in real-time combat, the Arisen is supported by their friends and allies known as Pawns. The interesting mechanics that come out of this create fantastic fights and boss battles while driving the story of the game.
With excellent end-game content and replayability, it’s a perfect fit for anyone looking to pick up a new Nintendo Switch RPG. It will be available on the Switch from 23 April and is currently quite cheap on pretty much every other platform.
