The meme dates back to a 2017 video showing the lovable foodaholic going ape on a gang of ruffians in a scene taken from Scooby-Doo! Legend of the Phantosaur. Through out the video, Ultimate Battle from the Dragon Ball Super soundtrack plays, ramping up the tension as Shaggy beats on the Bikers .
The meme slowly spread , gaining popularity on internet messaging boards like Reddit, Tumblr, and even twitter. Since then, it’s quickly gained traction, spawning mods for various Dragon Ball games, and a whole mess of fan art. Matthew Lillard, who played shaggy in the Scooby-Doo movies, has jumped on board; at first rebuking and the embracing the meme.
Dear universe. Please never let this end. https://t.co/BStc2xhGYg@reddit is the best.

With Ed boon joining the fray, could we see our favourite stoner allegory show up in Mortal Kombat? Weirder things have happened. since its relaunch in 2011, mortal combat has become known for its strange DLC chartacters; Freddy Kruger, Leatherface, Jason Voorhees, a Xenomorph, and a Predator have all graced the roster as downloadable content.
So only time will tell if we see the Shaggster show up to crush some skulls.
