Aussie Rainbow Six Siege fans may have something to celebrate and be excited for in the game’s first season of Year Four titled Operation Burnt Horizon.
Yes, two new Australian operators from the SASR have joined Six Siege’s already packed roster. The game already boasts over 40 operators, spanning across countries and continents such as Morocco, Italy, South Korea and Spain to name a few. The addition of these two operators will bring the count to 46, allowing for careful tailoring of the community’s different play types.
According to Ubisoft’s release, one of the operators is described as “a stoic Attacker, just there to get the job done,” with the other “a quick-witted Defender who’s in it for the guts and glory.” With the two signing onto the game’s aptly titled team, Rainbow, they’re promised to bring a “little Aussie know-how” to the lineup. Ubisoft also teased that there will be a new device that will challenge Defenders and encourage them to keep their wits about them, while another will leave Attackers “at a bit of a loss.”
Ubisoft have remained very select and secretive with their announcement though, including some detailing on a new map. The map has promised to bring a slice of “the red desert” along with the operators, featuring an Australiana styled map that’ll have twist and turns from the moment you step foot in the “service station halfway between here and nowhere” level start. “Try not to get distracted in the gift shop or dream of sampling the national specialities available at the fast food counter,” the map description details.
Short of these released details there is still little known or revealed about what this new season content may hold. Excited Aussies wanting to finally get a taste of their own colours getting shown in Rainbow Six Siege will have to wait until the 17th of February, where the full reveal will be made on Ubisoft’s twitch channel live from the Six Invitational in Montreal.
