Back in 2015, Melbourne-based development studio League of Geeks released Armello. The digital board game quickly became one of Australia’s most believed indie titles thanks in part to its captivating style and unique design. Now, Armello is set to receive its biggest update ever when Armello 2.0 launches February 26.
The big update comes with a lot of community requested features. There’ll be a focus on the multiplayer experience with a whole bunch of quality of life improvements including a new party menu, reconnecting feature, Hero Mastery, saving loadouts and a Jewellery Box that allows you to display your collectibles. On top of this there’s a bunch of enhanced visual elements that includes new 3D cards and an overhaul to the menus, hero selection and UX. Some of these can be seen below
“v2.0 is four to five times larger than any update we’ve ever done, even after supporting Armello with content and updates for over four years” said Trent Kusters, co-founder and director, League of Geeks. “For the community that pushed us to keep improving the game, version 2.0 is for you. And for everyone else that hasn’t played yet: there’s never been a better time to start playing Armello.”
Armello is a favourite amongst the Checkpoint team and an important release for the Australian gaming industry. With version 2.0 releasing real soon, a good game is set to get even better. There’s currently a PC, Mac and Linux beta running over on Steam for the big update, so fans can jump in and help smooth out any potential bumps. All other platforms will have to wait just a little bit longer.
Armello is available on PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch with the 2.0 update arriving February 26th. Will you be checking out version 2.0?
