Bad news: it’s March. Summer is over, wearing shorts all the time is no longer weather-appropriate, and you’ve played all the free games February had to offer.
Good news: It’s March! That means a bunch more free games for PlayStation Plus, Xbox Gold, Humble Monthly and Epic Games subscribers!
PlayStation Plus (both available from March 4 to April 1):
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered
A brighter, shinier version of the game that arguably put this military first-person shooter series on the map.
- The Witness
This semi-open world puzzle game is the second title from designer Jonathan Blow. You need to get a lot of lines from a lot of Point As to a lot of Point Bs.
- Xbox One
- Super Bomberman R (available February 16 – March 15)
It’s the Bomberman you know and love, plus several other Bomber-folks, including a Bomber Master Chief. - Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion (available March 1 – 31)
Play as Finn and Jake in this turn-based RPG based on the super popular animated series, featuring a lot of the original voice actors from the show.
- Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 (available March 16 – April 15)
Turns out, they made a third-person multiplayer shooter based on a smartphone tower defence game! And here’s its sequel!
- Super Bomberman R (available February 16 – March 15)
- Xbox One and Xbox 360
- Star Wars Republic Commando (available March 1 -15)
Unlike last month’s Jedi-heavy Star Wars offering, this first-person title lets you be a Clone Trooper. - Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (available March 16 – 31)
“A hack-and-slash game set after the events of Metal Gear Solid 4” is as simple a description as I can give this game.
- Star Wars Republic Commando (available March 1 -15)
- Earth Defence Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair
Hey, it’s one of those games with the big bugs! Shoot some big bugs down! - Warhammer: Vermintide 2 – Collector’s Edition
Take part in the popular multiplayer gorefest before its new expansion comes out later this year. - Cultist Simulator
This creepy narrative game has you play out the potential leader of a cult – but the game is presented as a series of cards on a table, which makes the whole thing creepier, if you ask me.
- More mystery games to be revealed soon
- Thimbleweed Park (until March 7)
The X-Files meets Twin Peaks in this retro inspired point-and-click mystery. - Slime Rancher (available March 7 – March 21)
Build a ranch and take care of sentient balls of goo, who perfectly straddle the line between cute and disgusting.
There you have it! Which of these free games are you most excited to get your hands on? Are you more comfortable in shorts even when it’s chilly out? Let us know!
