‘Hope’ lives! Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order release date dropped

Posted on April 14, 2019

Hot off the press, EA’s latest “Star Wars” gaming project, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has been revealed and it looks to be a very promising game.

Set after the events of Revenge of the Sith and Order 66, we see the new world order through the eyes of a young padawan Jedi in hiding – Cal Kestis. The premier trailer does a great job of establishing a compelling story, I literally felt like I was watching a film trailer, and it has me really excited to see where they take it from here. What has me most excited is the fact that the trailer also announces a 2019 release date, just in time for the end of year release of Star Wars Episode IX: Rise of Skywalker.

In the trailer we see Cal in hiding from the Empire trying to get by while avoiding detection at all costs. Indeed, in the trailer he states the three rules to survive are “Don’t stand out. Accept the past. Trust no one.”. Despite how easy this may seem, Cal is unable to watch as others suffer; instead appearing to use his untrained force abilities to save another person’s life. Having unwittingly revealed his identity, Cal’s life is now in jeopardy and his only option is to flee. From here we get to see several short cut scenes depicting Cal’s journey as he learns to control his abilities and stay alive.

Fallen Order

Despite there being virtually no gameplay footage yet, EA has released a statement detailing their vision for how Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will play –

“Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is designed with gameplay as a top priority in order to deliver the kind of intense Star Wars lightsaber battles that are seen in the films. Brought to life by Respawn, a studio known for high-quality games that are both visually beautiful and technically masterful, players will use their Jedi training to create different melee combinations with an innovative lightsaber combat system and Force abilities. Players will also use traversal and other platforming abilities to strategically overcome opponents and solve puzzles in their path across this galaxy-spanning adventure.”

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

It would appear that EA have really worked hard to create a compelling story and gameplay experience for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, despite their past errors regarding their Star Wars gaming projects (Star Wars Battlefront 2). ‘

Now with an official release date of November 15, 2019 fans of the Star Wars universe will get to enjoy Fallen Order on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
