Duel for Supremacy. Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution comes to the west

Posted on May 27, 2019

Konami have recently announced plans to release Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution to western audiences on the Switch. This is the first time since the Wii that a Yu-Gi-Oh! game has been released on to a main Nintendo console. This welcome news was sweetened that much more with the announcement that physical copies of the game would come with three exclusive cards.  The announcement trailer “It’s time to duel” shows off a number gameplay features and sets the stage for an authentic Yu-Gi-Oh gaming experience.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution is certainly touting some pretty cool features. These include having 9000 playable cards, new link monsters, local and online wireless play, and the opportunity to relive some of the animated series’ best duelling moments. The three cards, that will be offered to those who purchase a physical copy, are the Link Monster “Progleo”, the Cyberse Monster “Micro Coder”, and the spell card “Cynet Codec”.

Yu-Gi-Oh!

Yu-Gi-Oh has had multiple releases (many of which never made it west) on handheld Nintendo consoles and they have always provided gamers fun and challenging duels. Come August 20, 2019 us fans in the west will be lucky enough to join in the fun and settle once and for all who is the King of Games in Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution. Having played a few different handheld iterations of the popular duel card game in the past, I’m excited to see what their first Nintendo Switch release has to offer.
