Animal Crossing fans finally have more concrete word on game details and a release date for the new title. The game will be titled Animal Crossing: New Horizon and got a slight release delay into the 20th of March, 2020. However with the already stacked lineup of games such as Luigi’s Mansion 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, a few extra months isn’t much of a loss.
The news of the delay should surely not cause panic either as in the Direct, Nintendo emphasised the importance of the delay and how it will help create a well made game for players.
The usual mechanics are here, with farming and gathering of resources. Although when it’s the first main-line home console game since the Wii’s City Folk back in 2008, does change and innovation matter all that much? The character design and serene music is as cute and calming as ever and soon players will be able to revisit favourite characters such as Isabelle and Tom Nook for the first time on Nintendo Switch. Let’s just hope the wait doesn’t feel too long for Animal Crossing fans.
