A month-long celebration of LGBTQIA+ games has kicked off with Summer of Pride

It may be colder than Cocytus and bucketing down with rain, but it looks like June’s set to bring us some warmth with the Summer of Pride. Brought to us by MidBoss, developer of  2064: Read Only Memories, Summer of Pride will be a month-long celebration of LGBTQIA+ games, developers, and streamers.

On their Twitch channel, MidBoss will play host to a cavalcade of queer games and content creators throughout the month.  To Quote interim CEO of Midboss,  Cade Peterson: “We’ve been able to organize an amazing event by working with people and companies who are just as passionate about promoting LGBT voices and stories as we are.”

The list of games will include Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator, Life is Strange, Undertale, and  Gone Home among many others. The list of streamers is impressive, with the likes of FoxQueen, Nikatine, Deere and SuperxInvader joining popular creator 8-Bit Dylan in what is shaping up to be a celebration of all things queer in gaming.  These streamers will share their perspectives, discussing queer and other diverse content creators’ place in the gaming community. They’ll also discuss the importance of diverse representation in media, celebrating queer narratives through the lens of their own personal experiences as members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

The event looks to be an amazing celebration of everything that makes our hobby inclusive and fun to be a part of. Twitch seems to be shaping up to be a great place for queer gamers to come together and celebrate what makes us all unique. We certainly can’t forget Hbomerguy’s stream earlier this year that raised huge amounts of money for a trans charity via Twitch. If you find yourself with some spare time and are looking for something to warm your heart during this cold southern winter,  it might be worth popping over to Midboss’ Twitch Channel and checking this one out.
