PC gamers who missed out on Tetris Effect and its zaniness on PSVR will now get their own taste. The game will be releasing next week for normal desktop use or VR peripherals, including the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. One annoying oddity however is that the game will be an Epic Games Store exclusive. This is the next big name they’ve snatched up next to other titles like Shenmue III. An announcement trailer for the game has been released, which we’ve included for you below.
There are still some upsides to the PC release, including some exciting additions that weren’t present in its PlayStation 4 counterpart. Both resolution and framerate can be uncapped, additional particle effects and textures will be there as well as support for ultra-wide monitors. More so, it’ll be interesting to see how the game plays on the Rift and Vive, which are more powerful VR headsets than the PSVR.
This news may also be bittersweet to PC audiences when you consider the game’s exclusivity. Whether it’s the anger from Epic snatching big names or the pain of using another client, it has soured some people. The Epic Game Store exclusive debacle itself has been well documented, but at least the audience for this well-made game can grow.
Tetris Effect and its PC release will also be here before we know it.The game will be releasing next week on July 23rd on Epic Games Store. It’s unclear at this moment if the game will be strictly on their store or if it is a timed exclusive. Will you be picking it up and smashing those blocky rows to some fresh and funky beats?
