SEGA reveals the release of the Yakuza Remaster Collection, featuring the infamous Kazuma Kiryu in beautiful high-definition. Starting with Yakuza 3, available RIGHT NOW, the collection consists of Yakuza 4 and Yakuza 5 releasing first on the PlayStation store.
The three memorable Japanese action games are seeing an upgrade from 720p and 30 frames per second to 1080p and 60 frames per second. The remaster collection will include “never-before-seen content” for Western releases. Mahjong, Shogi, cabaret side missions and minigames will be making their first appearance in these new editions.
The trio of Kazuma Kiryu’s saga will see a staggered release. Yakuza 3 is available for purchase right now on the PlayStation store. Yakuza 4 will release 29 October 2019 and Yakuza 5 follows on 11 February 2020. Fans are able to pre-purchase the collection today to kickstart the nostalgic journey of the Dragon of Dojima!
Yakuza, also known as Ryū ga Gotoku, is a long-running series of action-adventure beat ’em up games. Featuring Japanese gangster Kiryu, seeking redemption for his way of life and for whatever reason encountering the goofiest and weirdest minigames and sidequests in gaming history. Creator Toshihiro Nagoshi’s aims to represent the way of life for a Yakuza… with a few interesting additions.
The Yakuza Remaster Collection is available right now on the PlayStation Australia store for $99.99. A physical version will release the same day as Yakuza 5, 11 February 2020.
