Gwent: The Witcher Card Game gets iOS release date

Posted on September 17, 2019

It’s been teased for some time, but Gwent, the video game adaptation of the popular in-game card game from The Witcher is now coming to mobile. It’ll arrive on iOS before we know it and marks the first time the game will arrive to mobile devices.

Gwent first garnered love and celebration through its implementation in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It served as a mini-game in the already huge open RPG world, where players could find collectible cards spread throughout the world to then later battle with. It was so popular in fact that developer CD Projekt Red announced at E3 in 2016 that it will be getting its own standalone game. From there, the game shone and even spawned another spin off called Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales,  an isometric RPG that borrows combat elements off Gwent.

Now, Gwent finally gets another turn for different audiences on iOS devices. It has nice little tidbits to it too, players can synch over their PC data to the mobile version through the use of their GOG login.

Gwent: The Witcher Card lands on iOS devices on October 29th. Keen players can pre-order the free game from the iOS App Store now to prepare for its launch. With no release date yet for Android devices, other players will sadly have to wait for some time yet. Hopefully, it’s not too far off.
