Boy was this one we sure didn’t see coming. Phil Spencer of Xbox took to the stage at The Game Awards to announce the sequel to Ninja Theory game Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice.

We already knew that the studio has been hard at work on upcoming multiplayer shooter Bleeding Edge, but now we have a sequel to an already brilliant gem. Titled Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, this marks a great grab for Xbox since their acquisition of Ninja Theory.

Hellblade

The original Hellblade was honestly brilliant and like no other. It showed not only a unique look at mental health and psychosis but had an interesting ancient cult setting to it. Many critics went as far as to include it in their Game of the Year consideration.

It’s safe to say that whenever Hellblade II comes out on the Xbox Series X, it’ll be one to keep an eye on.
