Halo Infinite looks to make a sensational return to form

Fresh from the latest Xbox Games Showcase, we got glimpses at some brand new games. One of the most hyped games that people were looking forward to in the showcase was none other than Halo Infinite and they didn’t waste any time, kicking off the show with some Master Chief action. Finally, we got some gameplay footage, and man does it look stellar.

In the trailer alone, we saw Master Chief and his new friend (who we saw in the original trailer) crash landing on a planet. Jumping ship, our hero was soon back in the action in a lavish and gorgeous environment. Quickly, they get to blasting away some of the familiar alien grunts, brutes and more, and it looks as smooth as ever. Hell, we even get to see that rumoured grappling hook in use and some driving of the good old Warthog.

Halo Infinite, at least in environments and vibes, looks to be a return to classic Halo. With that though, there’s one caveat and exception: it appears to be more open world than level based. There’s a moment in the trailer where the map menu is pulled up, they zoom out, and we see a giant map ahead of us. That’s definitely something new for the Halo franchise, we’ll see if it works for them.
