DOOM Eternal unleashes the Ancient Gods in first DLC pack

Posted on October 23, 2020

The very first DLC pack for DOOM Eternal has released, entitled DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods – Part One. As the name suggests, this is a two part DLC pack that brings new elements and areas to the 2020 shooter. The Ancient Gods – Part One is playable now across PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Check out the official launch trailer below.

“Your war is not over… slaying the Khan Maykr left an imbalance of power that threatens all of creation. The legions of Hell have razed the heavens, threatening to expand their control across dimensions. With the aid of an old ally, battle your way back to Urdak and decide the fate of the cosmos. Your mission is now your own.”

The Ancient Gods – Part One continues the narrative laid out within the original release and brings about new missions for the DOOM Slayer. You’ll travel to new locations such as the “industrial rain-swept decks of the oceanic UAC Atlantica Facility on Earth”, the “corpse littered Blood Swamps of Hell” and the “crumbling ruins of a demon-infested Urdak”. All in all it sounds like a delightful adventure. Expect new enemies as well new Support Runes and a bunch of new skins for the DOOM Slayer including a gold plated Maykr skin that you can unlock after beating The Ancient Gods – Part One on Ultra-Nightmare difficulty.

This newly released DLC pack brings about a good amount of content for the already well received and loved game. There was a lot to love about the ultra violent and fast-paced shooter when it first released back in March so I’m expecting DOOM fans to be absolutely thrilled to have a new reason to revisit this awesome title. The Ancient Gods – Part One is available as a standalone purchase or available as part of the DOOM Eternal Year One Pass.
