CryoSpace looks like a horrific isometric sci-fi survival game

Freshly announced this week is CryoSpace, a wicked looking new game to join the isometric survival space. Its adventures take you deep into the unknown of, you guessed it, space. Inspired heavily by both the Alien franchise and Phillip K. Dick novels, players will have to keep their wits about them to survive. We’ve included the announcement trailer, courtesy of IGN, for you below.

The game is as follows: you are a surviving passenger on a spaceship’s colonisation mission that, predictably, has gone very wrong. Being the first to be awoken out of cryogenic sleep, it’s up to you to explore the remnants of the ship and find a way out. Along the way you’ll be able to find other fleet members which you can wake to join your party. They’ll each come with their own benefits, but will also be another mouth to feed and a body to look after. Between you and your crewmate’s escape are not-so-friendly and very deadly Aliens. Can you muster what it takes to survive?

The other draw CryoSpace offers is that it’s quite the heavy survival game. Monitoring your oxygen, managing resources such as food and water, and avoiding or setting up traps are just some of the challenges players will face. Hell, there’s even said to be puzzles on offer to break up some of the tension. It goes without saying this’ll be a spooky scary adventure.

CryoSpace is being developed by kuklam studios and published by Games Operators. It’s quite a ways off from release still, due sometime in 2022. You can wishlist the game on Steam here.
