Finally, a playable Milla Jovovich in Monster Hunter: World

Posted on November 26, 2020

Milla Jovovich, who you’ll know as the queen of starring in Capcom adapted films, has a new role. No, I’m not talking about the soon to be released Monster Hunter movie. However, it’s pretty darn close; quite the crossover is happening. As of next week, gamers will be able to play as Milla Jovovich’s Monster Hunter film character inside video game Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. With the bonkers and frankly exciting news is an announcement trailer that details some of what you’ll experience in the crossover. We’ve attached it for you below.

Crossovers in Monster Hunter: World and its expansion Iceborne have occured before though none like this. Milla Jovovich’s character Artemis not only shares the actresses likeness but is also voiced by her. In players’ journey controlling Artemis, two special quests are on offer with ‘unique rewards.’ One will see you taking on a Black Diablos in the desert biome of Wildspire Waste. The other will see you tackling a Rathalos. Both quests serve as means to earn the materials required to craft two Artemis’ armour getups, the Artemis α+ set and the Artemis Layered Armor, from the film.

The Monster Hunter World: Iceborne crossover event with the movie begins on December 3rd and will generously be available for a year. Meanwhile, the film adaptation of the game arrives in cinemas on January 1st, 2021. Between this and the next franchise entry, Rise coming early next year, it’s an exciting time to be both a Milla Jovovich and Monster Hunter fan. Give us her character in a Resident Evil game next, cowards.
