News of Final Fantasy VII Remake coming to the PS5 has come to us this morning during the PlayStation State of Play livestream. The PS5 version has been given a new coat of polish and new content. This updated version is titled Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, and even adds a new episode to play.
The new episode lets the player take control of Yuffie Kisaragi hunting down Materia and infiltrating Shinra corporation. Donning a cute Moogle outfit, she teams up with a man named Sonon and looks to be going on her own adventures while the main story goes on in the background. This new episode provides FFVII Remake fans with more story to delve into. Along with new characters and combat, this expansion should keep us satiated for a while at least.
To top this off, those who own a copy of Final Fantasy VII Remake on the PS4 will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version free of charge. You will even be able to carry over any save data you have. Gamers with physical copies will have their PS5 upgrade digitally, so make sure you save the disk space! Once you have Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, you will be able to purchase Yuffie’s episode and start adventuring.
Since Intergrade is updated for the PS5 experience, a lot of the visuals have been improved upon. The video below gives us a better look at how the new graphics, textures and gameplay tweaks hold up. There have been a number of quality of life updates added too. Intergrade will now prioritize displaying graphics at 4K resolution with its new “graphics mode”. As well as a “performance mode” that prioritizes a 60fps framerate.
In addition to this, loading times have been greatly improved upon, and a “classic” difficulty mode has been added. This mode of difficulty will allow you to focus more on giving commands during combat, just like the old days. My personal favorite addition to Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is its photo mode. You can take snapshots of Cloud in the scenery, or battling it out with enemies. Maybe even capture some great moments for you to look back on later.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade releases worldwide on the 10th of June 2021 for the PS5.
Who’s excited to try out Yuffie’s new episode?
