Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart nabs new look and State of Play

Posted on April 27, 2021

PlayStation have announced an upcoming State of Play that will largely be focusing on Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. This Friday, April 30th at 7:00AM AEST, we’ll get a glimpse of 15 minutes of the game, along with a look at two upcoming indies. Get keen!

Ahead of this State of Play, we were also treated to another brief look at the game. We have confirmation of the female Lombax’s name. Fittingly, her name is Rivet. Also, we get a reel of some of the pretty sweet looking areas the game will take us to. Rift Apart sure looks to be shaping up for a great, crisp and pretty PS5 showcase game.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart also has a banging soundtrack going for it. The game is composed by Mark Mothersbaugh. They’re the lead singer of Devo but have also worked on titles such as Thor: Ragnarok and The LEGO Movie along with the Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter series. Snippets of three of the songs – ‘Rift Apart’, ‘Ride Through The Omniverse’ and ‘Ode to Nefarious’ can be found here on PlayStation’s Soundcloud profile.

With Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart slated for release on June 11, it’ll be here before we know it. It looks to be a solid adventure and is absolutely fitting for a State of Play (which we last saw in February). Exciting times, PlayStation and Ratchet & Clank fans. Be sure to tune in at 7:00AM AEST!
