Tales of Arise releasing September, hitting current-gen platforms

Posted on April 23, 2021

Tales of Arise, the next entry in the long-running and much-loved JRPG series, will be releasing on September 10th 2021. Excitingly, it will also be hitting current-gen platforms Xbox Series X and PS5, along with Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Tales of Arise was meant to release in 2020, but the game was delayed indefinitely in June, another victim of COVID-related delays. It’s also the first Tales game to be made on the Unreal 4 engine, which will make it more of a visual powerhouse than previous Tales games, but inevitably added to development time.

It’s also been confirmed that the current-gen versions on Xbox Series X and PS5 will have a performance mode running at 60 frames per second, as well as a resolution mode running at 4K resolution. Check out the gameplay below for more of a taste.

The last Tales game to release was Tales of Berseria, which we reviewed and said:

“As far as JRPG’s go Tales of Berseria, is certainly one I’d recommend to any RPG gamer looking to sink their claws into something with a bit more substance. While I’m only half way through this 60 hours+ game, I’m really keen to continue playing and to see how Velvet quest for revenge and possible redemption goes. If you’ve found yourself questioning if the Tales Series is worth a go, I suggest giving this instalment in the series a fair whack. You won’t be disappointed.”

We’re excited to get stuck into Tales of Arise when it releases on September 10, 2021 for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
