Announced this morning from publisher Prime Matter, Dolmen is a new third-person action RPG taking place in a unique cosmic horror sci-fi universe.
Dolmen looks to combine melee combat with ranged weaponry, all with a HP Lovecraft influence, while tying in to modern pop culture. From the gameplay we’ve seen, it definitely gives off Souls-like vibes, while perhaps not being quite as difficult. As the story goes, you need to overcome vicious bosses and survive in hostile environments, as the unique story reveals secrets of a mysterious crystal called Dolmen. Excitingly, the game will also feature multiplayer.
“Koch Media have helped thousands of developers to create fantastic worlds with incredible stories. We are proud to be partnered with such a prestige publisher and be part of their story. Everyone at Massive Work Studio is working hard to deliver the players an unique experience, so they can unveil this massive universe we are creating.” stated Larissa Villard, Producer at Massive Work Studio.
“We are delighted to team up with Massive Work Studio for this upcoming release. Dolmen fits perfectly into our broad portfolio of quality games for gamers and with the studios great ambition it’s also a perfect fit for our new premium games label. Our teams in Munich and around the world are going to support the dev team at Massive Work Studio with all of our local and global publishing and marketing experience.” said Niklas Kaeding, Global Communications Manager at Koch Media.
A sizzle reel for new publishing arm Prime Matter was shown off during the Summer Games Fest Kickoff this morning, with a longer trailer set to be revealed tomorrow at 5am during Koch Media’s presentation.
Dolmen is another game from this morning that has a lot of potential; we’re eager to see more ahead of the games release on on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2022.
