Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is the Super Smash your childhood demanded

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is the newly announced, Smash-like party fighting game powered by Nickelodeon cartoons of the ’90s and now. This frenetic platform fighter may look awfully familiar to Super Smash Bros. fans, but is that truly a bad thing? The roster contains the likes of Patrick, Sandy and SpongeBob from Spongebob Square Pants, Michelangelo and Leonardo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Oblina from Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, Nigel from The Wild Thornberrys, Helga from Hey Arnold!, Reptar from The Rugrats, and Invader Zim himself.

There’s definitely a lot of nostalgia in those choices and a lot of opportunity to expand the roster with new reveals before release and new content after release. Personally I’m crossing my fingers for some Ren & Stimpy.

The game is said to release this year across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. Whilst other Smash-like fighting games haven’t done very well for themselves, I’m quite hopeful that Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl can be an exciting and entertaining release.

The game is being developed by Ludosity who had previously released Slap City, a well-received game also within the platform fighter genre. Good to see this team collaborate with the likes of Nickelodeon and we can’t wait to see more!
