Dan Houser, the co-founder of Rockstar Games who left the company in 2020, has seemingly registered a new UK-based video game studio called Absurd Ventures in Games. The company names Absurd Ventures and Absurd Ventures in Games have also been registered in the United States since February.
This was spotted by users in the GTA forums and french publication Rockstar Mag, who pointed to UK company register Companies House where the new entity was registered under Dan’s name. The listed nature of the business is stated as “Ready-made interactive leisure and entertainment software development,” which certainly points to the creation of video games. The listed economic code, 62011, lists the design of computer games under its bracket.
Dan Houser created Rockstar Games, the studio behind the video game titans Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, alongside his brother Sam in 1998. 22 years later, Dan left the company under seemingly amicable circumstances, but we never got any firm indication of his future plans for the video game industry.
There has been no official announcement from Dan or anyone else associated with Absurd Ventures in Games, nor any indication about what kind of games this new studio might be creating.
