Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the best franchise entry in recent history (there, I said it) has scored a juicy update. Some nine months after the Xbox Series X|S has been released, the Ancient Greece set game will be scoring a 60FPS update. Frankly, it’s making me want to jump back in and see Kassandra and friends.
Previously, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on PS5 and the Xbox Series consoles only played as well as it would on a PlayStation 4 Pro or Xbox One X. It would run at 30fps, via its play of backwards compatibility. Those times are no longer and you can now enjoy the vast world the game has on offer in double the frames. Smooth as butter. Provided below is the announcement of the update, coming courtesy of a tweet from Ubisoft.
Missing Ancient Greece? A new title update for Assassin's Creed Odyssey will be deployed on August 24, adding 60FPS support when running the game on Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5 through backwards compatibility! #AssassinsCreed

Ubisoft’s blog post in regards to the update also details the update’s sizes. Xbox gamers has a 370mb install ahead of them while PlayStation fans have it at 470. The update has been set to release on the 24th of August so, depending on your time zone, that may very well be out now!
