Elden Ring, the video game collaboration between Dark Souls creators From Software and prolific writer George R.R. Martin, has been delayed to February 2022.
“The depth of the game and the degree of freedom in strategy exceeded the initial expectations, hence it has been decided to extend the development time for final adjustments.” said Bandai Namco in a written statement.
While the news of a slight delay (from January to February) is a little sad, the good news is that there will be a technical test available next month, giving players a chance to try out Elden Ring ahead of launch. The game will allow for cross-play multiplayer between generations, so PS4 + PS5, and Xbox One + Xbox Series X players will be able to play together.
Players will need to register at this website to express their interest, and if successful, the technical test for Australia will take place at the following times:
- – 9pm Nov 12 to 1am Nov 13 AEST
- – 1pm Nov 13 to 4pm Nov 13 AEST
- – 5am Nov 14 to 8am Nov 14 AEST
- – 9pm Nov 14 to 1am Nov 15 AEST
- – 1pm Nov 15 to 40pm Nov 15 AEST
