Animal Crossing: New Horizons free update 2.0 and the paid DLC Happy Home Paradise is available now bringing a whole slew of content for the lovable life sim. In fact, the update launched a day early with IGN reporter Miranda Sanchez tweeting out that the entire 2.0 update is available worldwide after originally being slated for a November 5 release date. The new release date was confirmed by Nintendo themselves shortly after via their Twitter account which is fittingly run by Isabelle.

The 2.0 update brings in some classic Animal Crossing characters like Brewster and his coffee shop The Roost inside of the Museum. Island Ordinances will allow your island to open up earlier in the morning or later at night depending on when you like to play. There is also an option to earn extra bells with the Bell Bloom Ordinance. You can check out the full list of the new additions here.
If your software doesn’t automatically update you can press the “+” button from the Home screen and select “Software Update” when the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game is selected.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 will be the final major free update for the game according to Nintendo. There will be plenty for players to do with this upgrade, and if you add in the paid DLC Happy Home Paradise, there should be enough to get another good solid year out of the additional content. Go grab your Switch, update your software and get that Froggy chair!
