Some great news for Borderlands fans! The official Borderlands Twitter has announced that a new game in the Tales from the Borderlands series is underway. Even better, it’s coming this year! This makes the first time a new entry in the series has been announced since the original spinoff game in 2014.
There are more stories to explore in the #Borderlands universe. An all new Tales from the Borderlands adventure is coming in 2022 from @GearboxOfficial and @2K.

We don’t have any information about the game yet, like when in the timeline it’s set or which of Borderlands’ characters we’ll be following. We will presumably get these details in a full announcement coming in summer (that’s winter here in Australia).
The first Tales from the Borderlands was released in 2014 to a positive reception, and was even nominated for Best Narrative in 2015’s Game Awards. The developer Telltale regrettably closed its doors in 2018, but many of its assets, including game licenses, was purchased by LCG Entertainment, which now trades under the name Telltale. It seems likely that the new company will be the developers behind this new Tales from the Borderlands, but it hasn’t yet been confirmed.
It’s been a good year already for Borderlands fans, as the recently Tiny Tina’s Wonderland has been judged a hit by most reviewers, including Checkpoint.
