The original Mafia from 2K has just turned twenty. To commemorate the big celebration, 2K has confirmed that a new entry in the Mafia series will be coming from Hangar 13. However, development is still relatively early and is “years away.” This news comes from a blog post for the 20th Anniversary, which you can read here.
Roman Hladík, Hangar 13’s general manager touched on the news. “I’m happy to confirm we’ve started work on an all-new Mafia project. While it’s a few years away and we can’t share anything more right now, we’re really excited to keep working on this beloved franchise and to entertain our players with new stories.”
No other information was provided.
2K and Hangar 13 are also celebrating the series’ anniversary in a big way. The original Mafia will be available for free to keep, if picked up between September 1 – September 5. Otherwise, you can check out the 2020 remake, Mafia: Definitive Edition, or the trilogy, on sale on Steam now until September 9.
