The Game Awards on Friday ended with a bang, revealing new gameplay and a release date of June 22, 2023 for the hotly anticipated Final Fantasy XVI.
The new trailer shows off the action combat system, and excitingly, gave us a chance to check out the Summon battle system, with all-time favourite Ifrit towering over the human characters. Take a look.
The story featured in this “Revenge” trailer also starts to look at the relationship between Clive and Joshua, the two main characters of the game. Visually, it looks as stunning as you’d expect, with fast and furious combat. Hopefully it addresses some of the complaints from Final Fantasy XV and returns the series to top form.
Anticipation is high for Final Fantasy XVI, with the last mainline entry into the series releasing back in 2016. With Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion coming out this week, June can’t come soon enough.
Final Fantasy XVI is set for release on June 22, 2023 exclusively for PS5.
