This morning’s PlayStation Showcase didn’t pull any punches, finishing off the event with gameplay from upcoming hugely anticipated sequel, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Check it out!
Off the back of the announcement trailer in 2021, we see more on Kraven the Hunter, who is in search of an equal in this sequel. “That spells bad news for the inhabitants of Marvel’s New York including a rogue’s gallery of villains and the Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Between the start of Kraven’s Great Hunt and an all-new Symbiote threat to Earth-1048, our heroes have their work cut out for them. ”
The gameplay looks fast-paced and fun as you’d expect, highlighting Spidey’s symbiote powers, and the ability to jump from Peter to Miles mid-mission, which is cool to see. Web-slinging through the city still looks to be incredibly satisfying as well.
There’s still no release date for the title, but we can still expect it in late 2023, according to Insomniac. “We know you have been patiently awaiting more information about the game, including when you will be playing it at home. While we can’t confirm a date today, we are on track for Fall 2023, and hope to be able to share a final release date soon.” said Aaron Jason Espinoza, Senior Community Manager, Insomniac Games on the PlayStation Blog.
We can’t wait to see more as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launches later this year for PS5.
