First announced last year, Publisher Telltale Games announced that the Deck Nine developed The Expanse: A Telltale Series is just around the corner, slated to be released in July.
The Expanse: A Telltale Series is set prior to the events of the popular sci-fi show, leaving investment for returning fans and newcomers. Players control Camina Drummer, a scavenger amongst a crew that are exploring an asteroid belt known as The Belt as they travel aboard The Artemis ship. Ransacking wrecks in zero gravity while going toe-to-toe with pirates are some of the very events that’ll take place in-game.
It’s worth noting that this is the first new IP Telltale Games have under their belt since their refounding in 2019. Readers may recall the events preceding this were a significant 2018 closure of the original company as many grew to know it. Knowing the studio’s icy history, it’s good that development work is being handed off to Life is Strange: True Colours devs Deck Nine are working on The Expanse: A Telltale Series.
This is about all that’s in the works in 2023 for Telltale. Not too long ago, The Wolf Among Us 2 was delayed out of 2023 and into the next year.
The Expanse: A Telltale Series will debut on July 27 for PC via Epic Games Store, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Subsequent episodes in the 5 episode long season will release every two weeks following the series premiere. ‘Future DLC Content’ that is yet to be revealed will come with the Deluxe Edition.
