The Guerilla Collective Showcase gave us a look at several games, with a few making their world premiere. Demonschool was already known to us, but it’s an intriguing game that takes some inspiration from the Persona series. You take the role of Faye as she navigates university life with demon-busting, making friends and solving mysteries along the way. Combat is turn-based and you must set up combos if you are to triumph against your enemies.
Develop your relationship with 15 characters and use your time wisely, because you must develop your team to fight the demons. University awaits but you can’t neglect the friends you make along the way. It already feels like a Shin Megami Tensei/Persona game just from the gameplay, but those games never leaned into the horror genre. Demonschool differentiates itself with a creepy atmosphere and grotesque enemies that will remain in your head rent-free, long after you put down the console.
Demonschool will be released later in 2023 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
