Detective Pikachu first came out on the Nintendo 3DS and received its own movie adaptation. Now the game is getting a sequel: Detective Pikachu Returns. It continues Tim Goodman and Pikachu’s adventures in Ryme City, as they go around solving mysteries. It features a wider array of Pokemon compared to the first game and expands upon the relationship between Tim and Pikachu.
Familiar characters from the first game make a reappearance, such as Mewtwo, but there are several new characters as well. New mysteries in Ryme City form the basis of a new story while the search for Tim’s father continues. Detective Pikachu Returns will be released on the Nintendo Switch on 6 October 2023.
