The 2023 Xbox Games Showcase happened this morning and jumpstarting the entire party was Playground Games’ new Fable game. The trailer starts pretty unassuming. A digitised version of comedian Richard Ayoade is expositing to the camera, explaining what it’s like to live in the fantasy land known as Albion.
From there, what looks to be a player character awkwardly collides with Ayoade’s character, revealing that they are a giant before quickly engaging in conflict.
Though no release date was issued, a new Fable game has been a long time coming. Fable III, the last big mainline entry in the series released all the way back in 2010. The first reveal for this Fable title was back in 2020.
Anticipation is high. We’ll be eagerly awaiting Fable’s arrival on Xbox Series X and PC with bated breath.
