Another pleasant surprise at this morning’s Nintendo Direct was the announcement of Super Mario RPG, a remake of the Super NES original that was originally released back in 1996. Of course, we never got it here in Australia, as it only came out in Japan and North America.
It’s now been overhauled with new graphics, releasing on the Switch later this year. Take a look.
Mario, Bowser, Princess Peach and original characters Mallow and Geno face down a menacing force known as The Smithy Gang in order to recover seven stars and repair the Star Road. This turn-based style of combat spawned other Mario RPGs, including the very loved Paper Mario series, but the prospect of playing this cult classic original release with updated visuals is enticing for Mario and RPG fans alike.
Super Mario RPG launches for Nintendo Switch 17th November.
