Sanctuary braces itself as a new peril emerges from the depths in Diablo IV’s upcoming Season of the Construct, set to kick off on 24 January 5 am AEDT (23 January 2024 at 10 am). Prepare to delve into the treacherous Vaults beneath the deserts of Kehjistan, where demonic forces led by the sinister Malphas threaten to unravel the very fabric of the world. We’ve also got a January 2024 Developer Update detailing some of the changes in the upcoming season.
Embark on a perilous journey with Ayuzhan of Caldeum to unearth the secrets of Zoltun Kulle’s Loom in a captivating new questline. Travel to the Gatehall, a town center beneath Kehjistan, and stand against the formidable Malphas in a new Boss fight. The previous Season of the Blood introduced a similar questline structure and new boss battles, as well as being just an asbolutely amazing package for free brought Diablo IV to where it needs to be. Looks like Season of the Construct will be even better.
During the Seasonal Questline, players will acquire the Seneschal Companion, a customisable robotic ally that fights by your side. Utilise magical Governing and Tuning Stones recovered from the Vaults to tailor the Seneschal’s abilities to your unique playstyle.
Venture into the heart of danger with these new Vaults, deadly dungeons infused with elemental hazards and The Constructs, a menacing new monster family. At World Tier III, Nightmare Vaults unlock, intensifying the challenges and rewards. As you enter a Vault, convert Pearls of Warding to unlock Zoltun’s Warding, a layered blessing offering access to the Vaults’ treasures. However, beware, as the blessings diminish with each encountered hazard.
Shortly after the Season of the Construct starts, The Gauntlet emerges as a weekly fixed dungeon. Players vie for the top spot on leaderboards, with the strongest earning a permanent place in the Hall of the Ancients. This season also introduces continuous Helltides, offering players a perpetual challenge, punctuated only by a brief 5-minute rest every hour.
PC players will also see great quality of life upgrades with enhanced movement through W-A-S-D keys,. An extra Stash Tab enhances storage capabilities, while various other updates, including skill tree reallocation, improved UI for trading gold, and increased rates for summon items for the Beast in the Ice, promise a smoother gameplay experience.
As usual, you’ll earn rewards towards a new Season Journey and Battle Pass. There will be 90 reward tiers, 28 free and 62 premium. Broken down into Chapters to complete, the unlockable goodies include:
- Legendary Aspects
- Awoken Adamant Armour (unlocking across various higher tiers)
- Three Scrolls of Amnesia
- Favour used to climb Battle Pass Tiers
- Awoken Armour Sets (Premium Battle Pass only)
- Spinning Loom Emote (Accerlated Seasonal Battle Pass only)
- Smoldering Ashes to spend on Season Blessings (only usable until end of the Season)
- Urn of Enduring Grace: Boost to the duration of Shrine effects.
- Urn of Tuning: Chance to receive an additional Tuning Stone from Wardwoven chests.
- Urn of Whispers: Boost the chance to receive a Greater Collection from Whisper rewards.
We’re looking forward to diving back into the depths of Sanctuary when Season of the Constructs drops 24 January.
