There has been speculation that remakes of the first two Persona games are underway, particularly following the well-received launch of Persona 3 Reload by the Persona fan community.

Recent rumours further support the idea that remakes of Persona and Persona 2 are on the horizon. A trusted source known for leaking Persona news, Midori, recently tweeted that Atlus is poised to begin work on an “updated form” of the initial two games. While specifics such as release dates remain undisclosed, the announcement has already sparked excitement among fans.

In a discussion about the necessity of remakes, when it was mentioned that it might be an obvious opinion that “Persona 1 and 2 are more in need of remakes than Persona 4,” Midori agreed, affirming, “Yes, P1 and P2 are indeed slated for remakes.”

The Persona series has cultivated a loyal following through its distinctive characters and intriguing narratives. Having debuted in the late 1990s, accessing the older games can be challenging for many enthusiasts. The release of the Persona 3 remake, along with rumoured plans for a Persona 4 remake, has fueled fans’ hopes that Atlus will continue to revive earlier games in the series.

However, it’s crucial to remember that Atlus has yet to officially confirm these rumoured remakes, so fans should approach the news cautiously. If these remakes are indeed in development, their release could still be some years away. In the meantime, reports suggest that Atlus is diligently developing Persona 6, which might be unveiled soon.
