We still don’t know much about the game past its iconic Japan setting but it was also revealed that we’ll see the first official cinematic trailer premiere for the game very soon.

Many fans have been eagerly awaiting a mainline game set in Japan for years, given the numerous twists and turns of the series. Ubisoft has always taken immense care to build out historically accurate worlds for their stories, with the Quebec studio garnering esteem for their work on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
The story of the Assassins and Templars that will play out remains a mystery. Shadows will likely focus on a completely new chapter of the Brotherhood set in this region. Mirage, the previous game in the series, took us back into the story of Basim, revealing some rather unsettling truths about his true identity. Cue the ominous music!
If you’re in Australia and excited to catch the cinematic trailer, I sure hope you’re a night owl! The trailer will be live 2 am AEST on Thursday 16 given the difference in time zones.
It is not yet known when Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released. Judging by previous years’ releases, we’ll likely see the game out sometime in October.
