In 2020’s Doom Eternal, id Software took the Doom Slayer as far as he could go on a gritty trial, ending very finally. What’s else to do then but take it back to the beginning? DOOM: The Dark Ages is a new entry in the beloved FPS franchise, set in a medieval setting where science fiction weapons and old-fashioned swords and armour combine. A gun that uses skulls as ammunition. A giant robot. A dragon. These are just some of the out-of-this-world sights you’ll see in-game. Of course, backing it all is a killer heavy metal soundtrack.
