Announced at the 2024 Xbox Games Showcase along with many other exciting stuff, Gears of War is back with Gears of War: E-Day. This time, they’re taking it back to the beginning, set 14 years before the original game and starring a much younger Marcus Fenix in an origin story for the ages.
The trailer is very limited, showing Marcus taking on a Locust on what is the beginning of the generations-long war between humans and Locusts.
The bio for the trailer reads: “Experience the brutal horror of Emergence Day through the eyes of Marcus Fenix in the origin story of one of gaming’s most acclaimed sagas. Fourteen years before Gears of War, war heroes Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago return home to face a new nightmare: the Locust Horde. There’s no release date yet for Gears of War: E-Day so it’s still some ways away. Still, an exciting reveal that we’re chomping at the bits to play!
