More updates for Marvel Rivals have been unveiled during this year’s State of Play announcement. It was confirmed that this upcoming Marvel-themed battle royale will also come out on PlayStation 5. At the same time, it was also announced when the close beta for PS5 will take place.
According to the game’s latest announcement trailer, it showcased more characters that players can play. Included in this ever-expanding roster is Spiderman, Venom, Mantis, Scarlet Witch, Magneto, and Hela, just to name a few. The trailer also showcased new battle locations, such as a shrine-like place. It also revealed that the “team-up” mechanic can now work for up to 3 team members.
Marvel Rivals is a 6v6 superhero PvP shooter that was announced back in late March 2024. Players will have the chance to play their favourite Marvel characters, not just the ones featured in the movies and Disney Plus shows. According to the game’s PlayStation trailer, a special exclusive scarlet spider costume will be available for those who play the game on PS5, and a closed beta will take place in just a few weeks.
If you’re keen to jump into this brand-new battle royale, the game can be added to your wishlist on Steam and the PlayStation store. Meanwhile, an official release date has yet to be announced. The closed beta for PS5 will begin in July 2024.
