Date Everything is a visual novel with 100 eligible bachelors

Posted on July 30, 2024

Announced this week, Date Everything is a romance visual novel where you can, well, do exactly as the name suggests! Published by Team17, the title is described as a ‘sandbox dating simulator,’ developed by Sassy Chap Games, a studio made up of voice actors turned developers in Robbie Daymond (Hi-Fi Rush), Ray Chase (Final Fantasy XVXmen ’97) and Amanda Hufford (Genshin Impact). What’s the gimmick for this one? Well, a cast of 100 datable and eligible bachelors, made up of everyday household objects. Yes,  you read that right.

Donning a pair of “Dateviator” glasses, your reality is transformed and suddenly your home is filled with studs and babes. Find love in everything; the potential is endless! Date Everything also has explorable 3D environments, already adding more to distinguish itself from the crowd of traditionally strictly text-based adventures.

Date Everything! features:

  • 100 fully voiced datable characters for players to fall madly in love with.
  • Branching dialogue that leads to multiple endings for each character.
  • Over 4 hours of music with each dateable character featuring their own theme.
  • 11,000+ hand-drawn images.
  • 1.2 million words and 70,000 voicelines.
  • A fully interactive 3d overworld that changes based on choices made in the playthrough.
  • Full voice acting with a huge cast of familiar voices, including Felicia Day (Supernatural, The Magicians), Johnny Yong Bosch (Bleach, Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers) Grey DeLisle (Scooby-Doo, The Last Airbender), and more!

Date Everything has a tall order of promises to deliver. If it can land just right, the things it can do for the visual novel scene are endless. Think of the revolution that was Dream Daddy: A Dating Simulator. Wouldn’t it be nice to get an experience as magical as that once more? Time will tell.

There’s no release date yet, but Date Everything is slated to release on Steam, Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S. Stay tuned.
