Gaming Session with Pokimane raises $500,000 for charity before being pulled

Twitch Streamer Pokimane has offered her time in the name of charity. As part of a fundraising campaign for the Immune Deficiency Foundation, run by Podcaster and content creator CDawgVA (aka Connor Colquhoun), a set of items went for auction. One of the items listed was a gaming session with the incredibly popular Twitch streamer. But just hours after the listing was published, the bid skyrocketed to an astronomical amount, leaving Connor in disbelief.

Colquhoun live-tweeted the auction results the moment the Pokimane listing went live. The content creator already expected that people would go wild to have a gaming session with the Twitch streamer. What he didn’t know was that the bid price would drastically increase to $500,000 USD (~$740,000 AUD). The starting bid for a gaming session with Pokimane was $2,550 USD (~$3700 AUD), but according to the auction page, the first bid was made by a user named Morgp, with a $12,000 offer (~$17,000 AUD).

As of writing, it seems like the auction site, Tiltify, may have noticed something suspicious as the latest bid for the Pokimane gaming session has been pulled, dropping from the $500,000 USD bid to $30,200 USD (~$44,000 AUD).

CDawgVA has run multiple auctions and charity streams to help raise funds for the Immune Deficiency Foundation. Back on March 17, Colquhoun raised over $1 million during his third Cyclethon across Japan, where he travelled for 750 km for 8 days with his friend and YouTuber, Abroad in Japan (aka Chris Broad). Aside from Pokimane, other items that are listed for this charity auction include a hangout/gaming session with Connor and VTuber Ironmouse, an Elden Ring poster signed by video game director Hidetaka Miyazaki, an Official Pirate Software Challenge Coin, and JaidenAnimation’s 10 million Diamond YouTube Playbutton.

Aside from this digital auction, an in-person event will be held at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, where more items will be listed. This event will take play on July 19 and will be live-streamed on Connor’s Twitch channel.
