Game On Cancer’s Holiday Spectacular returns for 2024

Posted on October 31, 2024

Cure Cancer’s Game On Cancer, the leading charity initiative in the Australian games industry, is running their Holiday Spectacular fundraising event for the fourth year in a row. The Holiday Spectacular encourages creators of all kinds to come together and unite their communities in raising funds for Cure Cancer. Creators sign up to be a part of the event and can compete in friendly leaderboards to see who can raise the most.

Last year’s Holiday Spectacular raised a whopping seventy-three thousand Australian dollars, which went towards ground-breaking work like Dr Kelly Mouchemore’s breast cancer research. In total, all of the Game On Cancer events have raised over 1.5 million Australian dollars for cancer research – so by joining in, you have the chance to be part of something amazing!

This year, Razer have come on board as the primary sponsor of the campaign – they’ve got a team matching donations, and have also provided some prizes that streamers can unlock by hitting milestones with their community fundraising. Obviously, the real prize is contributing to an amazing cause, but the Game On Cancer team have put together some fun bonuses:

  • AUD $250 raised – Holiday Spectacular Streamers Pack: lanyard and tote bag.
  • AUD $500 raised – Game On Cancer Bottle
  • AUD $750 raised – Game On Cancer Playmat
  • AUD $1,000 raised – Game On Cancer Hoodie
  • AUD $1,500 raised – Razer Cobra (Customizable Gaming Mouse) and Razer Firefly V2 Pro (Multi-zone Chroma Gaming Mouse Mat)
  • AUD $2,000 raised – Razer Seiren V3 Chroma (RGB USB Mic)
  • AUD $2,500 raised – Razer Kiyo Pro (USB Camera with High-Performance Adaptive Light Sensor)
  • AUD $3,500 raised – Razer Key Light Chroma (All-in-one lighting kit for Streaming)

2024’s Holiday Spectacular has plenty of gaming personalities on board, including Twitch Partner PaladinAmber, who will be captaining Team Razer in the fundraiser. Frequent Game On Cancer fundraisers, Camomo_10, iamfallfromgrace, Yakov, and JackHuddo. will be fundraising for the campaign. MKAU Gaming will also be running their own fundraising teams this year as well.

If you’re a streamer and you want to get involved, head on over to the Tiltify page and sign up to fundraise – you can either join a fundraising team, or fly solo. The fundraiser is running until Saturday 30th November, and is aiming to raise AUD $100,000 to go towards ground-breaking research. To date, Cure Cancer has funded 567 research grants – and you can jump in and help them fund even more.
