Less than one month to the day, ANTONBLAST has recouped ALL expenses related to development, marketing, and production! WE ARE PROFITABLE!confirmed Summitsphere studio head Tony Grayson on social media. “Looks like Summitsphere is going to be making a lot more games for a lot longer. Thank you everyone!

In a statement to Polygon, Grayson outlined the studio’s future plans and whether Antonblast’s success might mean more Anton-adjacent projects in the future. “We’ll always be interested in pursuing more Anton projects,” Grayson advised in the email to Polygon. “We’ve been deeply fortunate to have cultivated an audience that loves that world and its characters, and I’m sure we’d be nuts to not make good on that. That said, we’ve got many more ideas beyond Anton in the pocket… so maybe folks will be surprised when they see what we come out with next.

Following a year of studio closures and game underperformances, the news that a great, sensibly-budgeted game managed to find an audience and turn a swift profit is pleasant to hear. Antonblast was a fun time, and its success should hopefully provide Summitsphere the resources to continue making great games, whether it be another Anton adventure or something else entirely. We will have to wait and see what Summitsphere’s next project will be following the success of Antonblast at the end of 2024.
