Clothing company BlackMilk has revealed its newest gaming collaboration with the popular MMO Final Fantasy XIV. BlackMilk is known for creating flashy & geeky fashion, releasing items based on popular series such as The Legend of Zelda, or the League of Legends show Arcane. Earlier this week, BlackMilk teased the collection in a tweet featuring The Mothercrystal, a vital element of the MMO’s story. This collaboration marks their first time releasing clothing based on Final Fantasy, or any Square Enix properties.
Today, BlackMilk released a blog post featuring some of the items in the collaboration. The collection features several items based on the world of Final Fantasy XIV. There are dresses which feature a map of Eorzea (the game’s main setting), or symbols of the playable jobs. Fans of other Final Fantasy titles may enjoy the cozy clothing which features classic creatures, such as Chocobos and Moogles. There is also a vibrant shirt based on concept art of Il Mheg, a beautiful zone from 2019’s Shadowbringers expansion, which is home to pixies and other fey creatures. Personally, I’m a little surprised there are no clothing options based on the most recent expansion Dawntrail, which only released last year.
The full preview releases later this week on Friday 31st January. The preview will highlight every item available in the sale and their prices. BlackMilk have called this collab a “mini-collection,” so expect this to be smaller than their previous collections. However if these items are popular, BlackMilk may consider revisting Final Fantasy XIV or perhaps other Square Enix titles.
The full collection will be available for purchase next week at 8AM AEDT, on Tuesday 4th February 2025.
