Tyler the Creator fans get excited! A free-to-play platformer called TYLER THE GAME is in the works that will see players explore different worlds inspired by Tyler’s different musical eras. Not only that but you will play as the man himself in costumes inspired by the different outfits and themes Tyler creates in each of his albums.
Ali Graham, who is the writer/producer/lead artist on TYLER THE GAME has worked with hip-hop/R&B artists such as SZA and Doja Cat, and also created the animation for Anderson .Paak’s 2020 video clip and utter bop, JEWELZ. He’s also created the now free-to-play Lil’ Ye Land where you can play as a child version of Kanye West in a 2D platformer also based on West’s work.
Similarly to Lil’ Ye Land, the world of TYLER THE GAME is based around the many different worlds that Tyler has developed over the last 18 years of making music. You can jump around flowers, ride bees from Flower Boy, ride a BMX through the woods as he does in Wolf, or try to avoid intense fans as discussed in the song Noid. You also get to play as differently attired Tylers that are modelled off his different musical eras, such as wearing the ushanka-hat from Call Me If You Get Lost, or the bowl cut, shades and pastel linens from Igor. All these fine touches show how much Graham appreciates and is so knowledgeable about Tyler’s music and the way he blends fashion with art and hip-hop.
TYLER THE GAME is currently in development but will be free to play for Android, iOS and desktop. Graham currently has a Kickstarter running to help support him in developing and extending TYLER THE GAME. If you want to play the demo and check out more about the game you can do so here.
